A retired commissioner with more than 30 years of service in the Local Police of Palma has just been arrested for possession of pedophile material and is accused of a crime of corruption of minors. The arrest occurred as a result of an oversight by the police: he left several CDs and computer equipment at the police station when he retired, according to the newspaper Ultima Hora.
After carrying out an audit of the content, those in charge of this work discovered that it contained pedophile material of explicit sex with minors. The discovery caused a real shock in the Police. There was explicit sexual content with minors, hundreds of videos and other material. The personnel who discovered the CDs immediately notified the police officers, who alerted the mayor of Palma to the criminal content of the material.
The Police immediately ordered an internal investigation that has concluded pointing to the retired commissioner, who has accumulated more than 30 years of service. After the results of this first internal investigation, the facts were brought to the attention of the judge and the National Police, who are the ones who made the arrest of the ex-commissioner.
The man has been detained by police officers after the internal investigation of the Local Police was expanded with a more extensive investigation by the Technological Crimes Group of the National Police Corps. A court in Palma has taken over the investigation of the case, which has shocked both his colleagues from the Local Police and the Palma City Council staff, with whom he has worked for all these years.
