A Mossos d’Esquadra agent was arrested this Thursday in the town of Gavà for his alleged involvement in a network dedicated to marijuana trafficking, as sources close to the case confirmed to La Vanguardia. These same sources do not rule out the involvement of more police officers in the plot.
The arrest was made by the Arro unit with the presence of internal affairs agents. In fact, the operative is from the General Commissariat of Internal Investigation and Disciplinary Affairs of the Mossos d’Esquadra. A court in Vilafranca del Penedés is investigating the case, other sources have confirmed to this newspaper.
During the operation, seven registrations related to marijuana plantations were made in the municipalities of Gavà, Castelldefels, Calafell, Mirador del Penedès and Avinyonet del Penedès.
