The Mossos d’Esquadra and Municipal Security Guards of Calaf have arrested a 38-year-old man who had just stolen thirteen tablets, a project and other electronic materials from a local school. The guards alerted the police when they saw that the alarms of the pavilion and the school that are next to each other had gone off.
When the patrols arrived, they saw how one of the guards was chasing a man and how he threw a bag with the stolen material. After intercepting it, they verified that the stolen material was inside and it could be returned to the school.
The agents believe that the thief remained hidden inside the municipal pavilion until the doors closed. When he came out of the hideout, he triggered the alarm and tried to disable it. Then, through an emergency door, which gives access to the school patio, he moved from one building to another.
Once in the courtyard, the detainee forced one of the doors to access the interior and take the electronic material. However, when he was going to go out into the street, he found himself face to face with the municipal guards.
The detainee has been placed at the disposal of the Igualada Guard Acting Investigating Court.
