A man barricaded himself in his home in Las Gabias (Granada) this Thursday after refusing to be arrested by the Civil Guard, who intended to arrest him after a complaint was filed for continued damage by the residents of the block, who have been evicted as a preventive measure. .

As sources from the Civil Guard have informed EFE, the man refuses to be arrested, so several patrols are trying to convince him to surrender, without having any evidence that he is armed, although he does have at least one in his home. a butane cylinder, which has led the agents to order the eviction.

It was the complaint filed by the neighbors for continued damage to the community that led the agents to appear at the scene around noon this Thursday to arrest him, to which the man refused, taking refuge in his house.

The president of the neighborhood community, Francisco José Sánchez, explained to EFE that the man has barricaded himself after threatening to explode four butane cylinders.

As on previous occasions, he has assured the neighbors that the block is his and has argued that he cannot be detained by Civil Guard agents because he has the “diplomatic immunity granted by having worked for different intelligence groups.”

“The situation is very turbulent because he has once again threatened to blow up the block,” added Sánchez, who remains at the opposite end of the street with the rest of the residents of the property and the adjacent building.

He also added that the violence of the barricade has increased this week and that the man already tried to attack a neighbor with a hammer two days ago.

Civil Guard agents, including explosives specialists, and a team of firefighters have traveled to the area.
