The Local Police of Torrelavega have arrested a 42-year-old man, whom they located this morning at the most central intersection of the city, Cuatro Caminos, fighting against vehicles and regulating traffic. The arrest occurred after a call from a citizen alerting him to the presence of this individual at the main intersection of the city, as local police sources explained to EFE.
The agents located the individual emulating the police officers who for decades were located at that point in the city to regulate traffic until more than twenty years ago when the directions of traffic were changed and this service was abolished by traffic lights.
The same sources have confirmed that, when the Local Police patrol arrived, the man was already leaving the intersection, but when asked about what he had supposedly done, he was “defiant and aggressive” with both the officers and pedestrians. When he asked for his identification, he tried on several occasions to leave the place, continuing with his uncooperative attitude, going so far as to hit and throw one of the agents to the ground when he went to search him.
The man, with a criminal record, has been arrested for a crime of resistance and disobedience, while the local police officer he attacked is slightly injured.
