A man has appeared dead floating this Wednesday on the beach of Gavà (Baix Llobregat). Around 8:00 in the morning, the emergency telephone number 112 was notified, as reported by the Civil Guard.
The body has been found by two paddle surfers who were about 50 meters away from the coast. The Judicial Police is carrying out the first investigations to clarify the facts.
From the armed institute they have indicated that “there are no obvious external signs of criminality” and that it could be “in the face of an accident of nature to be determined.” The Civil Guard has also indicated that they are still investigating the identity of the man, while the body has already been removed.
The victim was a 48-year-old man of Spanish nationality from Cornellà de Llobregat, as confirmed by the Spanish police. “Pending the autopsy, a death from natural causes is presumed,” they said in a statement.
The two women who sighted him while practicing paddle surfing picked him up from the middle of the sea and moved him on one of their boards to the beach, where his death was certified shortly after.
