A hiker dies in a 120-meter fall while climbing Pedraforca

A hiker who, along with two other people, was preparing to ascend Pedraforca this morning lost his life when he slipped down an icy slope and fell about 120 meters down the mountain. The three had left the Lluís Estasen refuge, at 1,675 meters, in the municipality of Saldes (Berguedà), to undertake one of the most common routes up Pedraforca (2,506 m.), through the Verdet pass.
