American barbarism manifested itself again this Monday at its best. There is no safe place in this country in the face of the armed violence that breaks out every day.

Nashville police shot and killed the suspected gunman, “a young woman apparently of adolescent age,” according to police spokesman Don Aaron. She later confirmed that she was 28 years old and a resident of Nashville. It is very unusual for a woman to star in one of these tragic chapters. The assailant, who was carrying two assault weapons and a pistol, opened fire at a school linked to the Presbyterian church attended by children from preschool to sixth grade, ages three or four to twelve. She died in the crossfire with the uniformed officers.

Aaron confirmed at a press conference that, in addition to the gunman, there were three children killed and three other adult employees in the shooting at the Covenant School on Burton Hills Boulevard in the city of Tennessee.

The police spokesman, who was still unaware of the aggressor’s relationship with that school, specified that she entered through a side door. She left the first floor behind and headed to the second floor. Once the alert went off, the uniformed officers located the gunwoman and an exchange took place that ended the life of the aggressor. Numerous ambulances and school buses were deployed around the school for the evacuation. The children were taken to an enclave to be reunited with their families. Numerous fathers and mothers came terrified to find out what had become of their children.

The agents accessed that floor and heard shots on the upper floor. A team of five agents located the gunman. Two of those policemen exchanged fire with her, who died in the fray. At no time did she enter any classroom.

Numerous ambulances were deployed around the school, transporting five people to hospitals. Three were children and died upon arrival at the Vanderville Hospital pediatric unit. The other two adults were also declared deceased shortly after entering. Another adult already took his last breath at the scene.

and school buses for evacuation.

The emergency services evacuated 74 children and employees in a bus, while a second vehicle transported 34. On a normal day there are 209 students and about 40 workers and teachers. The children were transferred to a facility where the reunification point with their families was established. Numerous fathers and mothers came terrified to find out what had become of their children.

President Joe Biden regretted that once again a misfortune of this type was produced, without doing anything to prevent it. The first lady, Jill Biden, who was caught by the news at a public event, stressed that “the children of the United States deserve more.” And the White House spokeswoman, Karine Jean-Pierre, stated in her appearance: “How many more children have to die before the Republicans decide to do something to stop this and ban semi-automatic rifles?”

It remains to be clarified if the gunwoman bought her weapons legally, although this is usually always the case. There is an open bar. So far this year there have been 129 shootings, an average of more than one per day. “This only happens in the United States, in no other country there is this amount of shootings. It is evidence and it has to be done to fix it,” said a mother whose daughter is one of the students of this other attacked school.

The shooting occurred in a wealthy area, where many people linked to the world of music and the recording industry live. It is a neighborhood with a very low crime rate, with shops and residences of good standard
