They specialized in targeting other drug traffickers using vehicles, police badges and firearms, but the network was being investigated by the Civil Guard. It was within the framework of operation Celeo when Benemérita arrested four people (in Chiclana, Barbate, Roquetas de Mar and Estepona) related to this organization, in addition to seizing 300,000 euros in cash, shotguns and cars.
The operation began in May, when it was learned that in the town of Barbate (Cádiz), a cache of hashish had been introduced by sea during the early hours of the morning. Subsequently, the load had been transferred to the interior of a van. This vehicle was intercepted by the now dismantled gang, whose members carried firearms and wore clothing and vehicles with police markings.
The investigations allowed the identification of the alleged perpetrators of the criminal organization, to whom the 137 kilograms of the stolen hashish shipment were found.
For this reason, the operation was carried out simultaneously in the towns of Chiclana, Barbate, Roquetas de Mar and Estepona, where the seven entries and home searches were carried out.
300,000 euros in cash, knives, two previously stolen shotguns, a compressed air weapon, seven vehicles and a large number of electronic devices such as numerous beacons, drones and recording cameras used for surveillance were seized.
