Juan, Joan, Guerrero, the old warrior… A lifetime of friendship, struggles and unforgettable moments lived with the photographer friend. From the times of clandestinity, when he revealed the photos for the then illegal organizations, to the latest exhibitions and talks.

Joan has taken photographs and exhibitions in several countries around the world, has published in prestigious media as a photojournalist, has published books and has been recognized as a teacher by many photographers of different generations. But he has never stopped seeking the ember, the complicity and the generous work of the friends of Santa Coloma, who have always accompanied him in projects such as Imatge Solidària.

In his last stage he had once again walked the streets of Santa Coloma with his camera attentive, on the lookout for the moment, like the good hunter, or willing to wait patiently for the right moment, like the good fisherman. “I have tried to go out without the camera, but I can’t, I don’t see things the same. I can go to many places and do beautiful things, but Santa Coloma is where I look forward to taking photographs,” he had recently said in an interview. And so it was.

The photographer, the man, the friend – who was forged in the thousand Colomian “movements” of the 60s and 70s – sixty years later he returned to capture today’s Colomian life with renewed enthusiasm. As always, with a thousand projects and a thousand things still to say, Juan, Juan, Guerrero, the old warrior…
