Six aerial vehicles are working to extinguish the forest fire declared early this afternoon in the municipality of Alzira (Valencia), which has forced the evacuation of chalets near the fire area and the establishment of situation 1 of the Special Plan of Fires (PEIF)
Three aerial means have joined the work at around 1:20 p.m. and another three have joined the extinguishing work at 1:50 p.m., as reported by the Emergency Coordination Center of the Generalitat 112.
Also working in the area are 4 forestry units from the Generalitat – two of them helitransported -, a forestry coordinator and technician, a team from the Valencia provincial fire brigade consortium, a prevention coordinator and an environmental agent.
The Valencia Fire Brigade consortium has mobilized two fire brigades from Alzira and Xàtiva, two BRIFO forestry brigades and four command units to the area.
The fire, according to 112, has also forced the evacuation of several chalets in the Sant Bernat urbanization.
Emergencies has also established situation 1 of the Special Forest Fire Plan, which is activated in the event of an emergency situation caused by a forest fire of foreseeable evolution, which can seriously affect forest assets and, where appropriate, slightly affect the population and assets. of a non-forest nature, and can be controlled with the means and resources of the PEIF.
The PEIF is also established when the fire may require the incorporation of extraordinary means for its extinction, at the request of the director of the PEIF and after evaluation by the corresponding state administration.
