Two young Dutchmen were injured this morning when they accidentally fell from the coastal path of Lloret de Mar. Both were transferred to the Josep Trueta hospital in Girona and one of them ended up admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The events occurred after 1:30 a.m., when a citizen alerted the Local Police that there was a person who needed help in the section of the coastal path between Roca d’en Maig and the statue of Dona Marinera. .

When the agents arrived at the scene, they found two young men with multiple injuries. The victims, originally from the Netherlands, spent a few days on vacation in the town and stayed in an apartment in the municipality.

The two were transferred to a hospital in Girona and one of them was admitted to the ICU, where he still remains, due to the seriousness of his injuries. The Mossos d’Esquadra, who have taken charge of the investigation, are waiting to take a statement from the injured to find out exactly what happened and the circumstances surrounding the fall, which everything indicates was accidental.

It is not the first time that a young man has rushed from the Lloret coastal path. In 2017, a 21-year-old Austrian man died at dawn when he fell off a cliff on the coastal path towards Fenals beach.
