It all stems from a complaint filed by a man who hadn’t heard from his brother for two days. It was in April 2022. Civil Guard agents locate a person close to them who admits having gone with the disappeared person and two other people to a villa in Aspe (Alicante) with the intention of appropriating the drug that was being manufactured. in it. Once there, according to this testimony, there was a shooting that caused several gunshot wounds and all of them fled.
The investigators went to the chalet and verified that, indeed, the remains of shots and traces of blood were visible. From there, the Civil Guard begins a double investigation to locate the missing young man and to find out what happened that night.
It was not until the afternoon before Christmas Eve that a hiker found some remains of bones and some slippers in a place in the Sierra de Novelda, on December 24, 2022. The investigators and the forensic doctor located the rest of the bones that had been scattered due to weather conditions and the passage of time. The skull showed a bullet impact, remains of the projectile and DNA with which it was confirmed that it was the missing young man.
The technical eye inspection carried out in the chalet had made it possible to collect different DNA samples and fingerprints that were used to identify the members of the gang that used it as a refuge. Investigators determined that it was a criminal group of Polish nationality that, under false identities in Spain, manufactured drugs there in Aspe’s home and in another chalet in the nearby town of Novelda.
According to Civil Guard sources, the deceased and three other individuals, of Moroccan nationality, engaged in violent robbery, using firearms, from other drug traffickers, to later resell that drug. On the night of April 25, 2022, they went to the Aspe chalet with the aim of stealing the drug from the group of traffickers of Polish origin. They resisted and a shootout began between the two groups. The missing young man died instantly as a result of a shot to the head and a member of the assaulted was wounded in the arm.
The assailants fled and the assaulted got rid of the young man’s lifeless body, which they hid on a slope of the Novelda mountain range before fleeing to France and Germany.
International cooperation made it possible to identify, arrest and extradite two men and a woman in France and another in Germany for the alleged crimes of homicide, belonging to a criminal group, drug trafficking, document forgery and illegal possession of weapons. All of them aged between 20 and 49 years.
Likewise, the other three men assailants, between the ages of 24 and 38, have been charged with attempted murder, illegal possession of weapons, robbery with force and belonging to a criminal organization.
The operation was carried out by the Alicante Command and agents from the Crevillente Judicial Police Team, agents from the Aspe Post, the Alicante Citizen Security Unit, the Cynological Service of the Alicante and Madrid Commands, the Group of Underwater Specialists (GEAS) of Alicante and the Crime Laboratory of the Civil Guard of Alicante.
