Denier of gender violence or climate change, contrary to mandatory vaccination and the covid passport, critic of the media and author of notorious insults, such as when she said of the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, that they scare her ” whistles” and who only knows how to “kneel to thrive”.
This is the controversial profile of the Vox member and new president of the Cortes de Aragón, Marta Fernández, who assumed the position in the Chamber this Friday after the pact reached at the last minute between her formation and the Popular Party.
Hours before her inauguration, the deputy erased the trace of her statements on social networks such as Twitter or Instagram, “temporarily deactivated” according to the far-right party. The deletion seems to be due to an attempt to avoid controversies such as the one raised by her counterpart in the Balearic parliament, Gabriel Le Senne, author of well-known messages with contrary positions on gender issues, feminism or the LGTBI movement. “That is why women are more belligerent because they lack a penis,” he said in one of the most criticized in recent days.
Fernández, 57, became this Friday the second woman to hold this position in the Cortes of Aragón after Violeta Barba (Podemos). The woman from Zaragoza has a degree in Law and has the title of attorney in court.
She has also been responsible for human resources at the Osca Gas company for twenty years, between 1999 and 2019, and before that she worked for a year as an administrative assistant and telephone operator at Ibercaja. Her arrival at the regional Parliament four years ago was her first political experience.
The most belligerent face of Fernández has been reflected these years on Twitter. Under the name of @marthynahappy, she called for freedom of expression, denied climate change or vaccines, and was very belligerent with the media.
In one of his posts, he included a mask for citizens and three wads of euro bills for journalists as face masks, and in another he asked “why is a bacterium considered life on Mars when a prenatal heartbeat is not considered life?” on earth?”.
In another message, he recommended washing your hands “regularly” because “the government and the media are responsible for brainwashing.” Regarding the covid virus, he said that “it is not natural; It’s a bat virus. China intentionally and premeditatedly created it.”
Neither was the PP spared from his attacks, a party that has ultimately ceded the presidency of the Cortes to him. Regarding this formation, he went so far as to point out that “it has saved the bankruptcy of the UGT in Andalusia”, “throws out the Civil Guard of Galicia” and “prevents Vox from entering the Senate for Catalonia”.
He also lavished himself on personal attacks such as the one he dedicated to the “communist dictator Pedro Sánchez” because in his speech for the presidency of the EU he omitted to “name Ceuta and Melilla when speaking of Spain.” In another of the most notorious, he directly insulted the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, of whom she assured that she is afraid of “whistles” and she knows “nothing about life”, only “kneeling to grow”.
“Of course, prudence, moderation or respect does not endorse him,” criticized the new socialist spokesperson in the Cortes, Mayte Pérez, after his appointment, who hopes that the new position will temper the spirits and statements of the recently released president of the Camera. For her part, the popular spokesperson, Mar Vaquero, did not want to assess Fernández’s statements in previous stages after the initial session of the XI legislature.
