The Complutense University has suffered a computer attack on the application that manages internships in companies and may have compromised the personal data of its students, as confirmed by the center this Friday.

The academic institution has filed a complaint with the Police, with the Spanish Data Protection Agency and an incident has been opened at the National Cryptological Center Computer Emergency Response Team (CCNCERT), which is responsible for the cybersecurity of the public administration. they specify in a statement.

As soon as the attack became known, security was tightened and the University is working with cybersecurity experts and relevant authorities to address the situation and ensure that all necessary measures are taken to protect its users’ information.

The academic institution regrets what happened and assures that it is doing everything possible to understand the scope of this leak, including the nature of the compromised information and the number of users affected, and mitigate any potential impact.

In the note, the Complutense University specifies that not all existing data in the application that manages student internships in companies is affected and that no passwords of any kind have been leaked.
