The Fira de Sant Josep de Mollerussa Lleida) held this Friday a new edition of the Inter-Pyrenean Cereal Exchange, a meeting space that aims to enhance commercial relations between operators. 400 professionals have participated, from Catalonia, from the rest of the State, from countries such as France, Belgium, Italy, Austria, Russia or Ukraine and for the first time Latin American operators from Argentina and Mexico have also participated.
The price of grain is falling after soaring in recent years following the war in Ukraine. However, the fall is smaller compared to the price before the war, so the sector sees it as a “normalization.”
The 21st Inter-Pyrenean Cereal Exchange, which was held at the Resquitx restaurant in Golmés, a neighboring municipality of Mollerussa, is the anteroom for the inauguration this Saturday of the 151st edition of the Sant Josep Fair.
The mayor and president of Fira de Mollerussa, Marc Solsona, has highlighted the role of the event as it is a consolidated meeting point for the sector that serves to make contacts and share synergies.
As for the Fira as a whole, Solsona has stated that it is “starting very strongly”, with the weather being “accompanying”, the venue practically finished, and figures of around 250 exhibitors spread over more than 20,000 square meters of exhibition space.
