In The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can contemplate Montserrat seen from Vacarisses, in the Vallès Occidental, with a very clean and transparent light in the early hours of the morning.
Montserrat is located between the counties of Bages, Anoia and Baix Llobregat, but it is also very visible from Vallès, in this case, from Vacarisses.
With an extension of 40.54 km², Vacarisses is located in a small depression (the average height of the terminus is 385 meters) of rugged relief that opens in the western foothills of the Prelittoral Cordillera, which reaches 940 meters in the Castellsapera .
As can be seen in one of the snapshots, it is surprising that, next to the highway that goes from Terrassa to Manresa, in the municipality of Vacarisses, you can see this life-size stone dinosaur abandoned in the middle of the field looking at Montserrat .
In reality, this Vacarisses dinosaur sculpture has been in this location since 2008. It is a huge concrete work made by Casimiro Salgado and, after his death, his sons decided to display it in this place.
The one known as the “C-58 dinosaur” weighs between 6,000 and 7,000 kg and is about 3 meters high. Also, although you can’t see it in the photo, he is smiling.
