Unicaja has signed a long-term agreement with Kyndryl under which the American multinational will be responsible for the renewal and comprehensive management of the bank’s technological platform.
The agreement also aims to achieve improvements in efficiency, through operational excellence, as well as accelerate services for its clients.
Kyndryl explains in a statement that it will accompany Unicaja to evolve technologically by creating new processes, procedures and tools that allow increasing the automation and industrialization of technological services. The contract also contemplates an operational transformation and the future renovation of the main infrastructure of the entity’s data processing center, which has its headquarters in the Malaga city of Ronda.
Likewise, the agreement will allow the bank to adopt a hybrid cloud strategy. Kyndryl will create a private cloud and coexistence management with major public cloud providers. This new architecture will offer greater agility to respond to new market challenges and thus make it possible to offer its clients the latest advances in digital banking.
“With the agreement with Kyndryl, Unicaja Banco guarantees being at the forefront of the technological infrastructure that supports the bank and its secure and permanently updated evolution. Without a doubt, this alliance will contribute to achieving operational excellence and process improvement,” says the CEO of the Andalusian entity, Isidro Rubiales.
“Unicaja Banco is a key entity in the Spanish financial landscape. “We are very proud that they trust in the talent and experience of Kyndryl professionals to modernize their technology that will allow them to obtain efficiencies in their operations and better services for their clients,” says David Soto, president of Kyndryl Spain and Portugal.
