The National Police have arrested a man accused of allegedly breaking into a Madrid restaurant at gunpoint and locking up workers in a room at the establishment.
The events took place early last Friday in a store in the district of Fuencarral, where the arrested person took the collection money while intimidating the employees with a short weapon, the Madrid Police Headquarters reported.
One of the workers managed to alert the Police by phone, but the man locked her in an office at the premises, like the rest of her colleagues.
The agents established a security perimeter to cover the thief’s possible escape routes; They managed to subdue him and arrest him as the alleged perpetrator of crimes of robbery with violence and illicit possession of weapons.
