Javi Guerra, Valencia midfielder, was sent off during the match against Getafe played this Friday for telling referee Guillermo Cuadra Fernández on two occasions that he was “very bad”, according to the referee’s report.

The Ché player saw a direct red card in the 88th minute, when his team had just conceded Borja Mayoral’s goal that gave Getafe the victory. But he was not the only one expelled from the clash, in which Gabriel Paulista also went to the locker room early, with two yellow cards, and Domingos Duarte, also with a straight red card for protesting.

In the case of Javi Guerra, the report clearly reflects the reason for which he was expelled and which upset his coach, Rubén Baraja, who in a press conference acknowledged being angry with his player for having left his team with one less man.

“In the 88th minute, the player Javier Guerra was sent off for the following reason: for protesting by shouting at me in the following terms: ‘You are very bad, very bad!'” Cuadra Fernández wrote in the minutes.

The referee’s report also does not leave Domingos Duarte in a very good position, who, according to the referee, insulted an opponent: “In the 90th minute the player Domingos Duarte was sent off for the following reason: “Addressing an opponent in the following terms: ‘Motherfucker!”.

And Gabriel Paulista, according to the report, left the field in the 50th minute. The reason for his second card was clear, for slapping Latasa during a game. But the first, for protesting in the first half, was taken out by Cuadra Fernandez, according to the minutes, for the following reason: “For coming running towards me from a long distance, loudly asking for a card for an opponent.”

Paulista, after the game apologized through a message on his social networks: “I assume my part of the blame and I apologize to everyone, to my teammates, to the club and to the fans,” he wrote.

Now, his coach will have to manage the absences of Javi Guerra and Gabriel Paulista for the match he will play against Barcelona the next day. Their expulsions will undermine Valencia, who will have two very important casualties ahead of one of the most complicated games of the season.

Meanwhile, Bordalás, at Getafe, will not have Duarte, one of his substitute centre-backs this year and who replaced Omar Alderete against Valencia, who was precisely serving a one-match suspension due to the accumulation of yellow cards and who will presumably start again in the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán stadium to face Sevilla.

For his part, Valencia midfielder Pepelu denounced on Friday night the “cockiness” of referee Cuadra Fernández “from the first minute” of the match between Getafe and Valencia, in which the referee sent off center-back Gabriel Paulista and to midfielder Javi Guerra for Valencia and to center back Domingos Duarte for the Madrid team.

“I don’t like that they treat us like that. They are honest kids and the heartbeat of a game makes you go crazy, but when from minute one they treat you with that arrogance, it is difficult to play a game,” Pepelu said in statements to VCF Media, the club’s official television channel.

Pepelu stated that the players are “involved and with a lot of pressure” and that he imagined that the referee was too, “but we all have to be equal on the field and today the tone was not appropriate.”

“We lost it due to our demerits, but today all of Spain and everyone who saw the match will be wondering many things because the spectacle was not what LaLiga deserves,” explained the player.

“We are angry because we came with enthusiasm to get the three points and after a very big job and with 10 players for so long we leave empty-handed. It is a shame because we have worked very well, but this cannot be like this for LaLiga,” he concluded.
