Decorating the Christmas tree is a practically infinite range of possibilities. There are those who opt for the trends of each season, this year being bows and shiny filaments two of the leading fashions. Other people prefer to opt for more traditional ornamentation, faithful to customs.
There are also those who advocate dressing the Christmas tree with recycled materials and handmade crafts, thus giving it a unique, original touch full of personality. In any case, there are decorations that never fail, such as tinsel garlands and balls.
Likewise, elastic meshes or bows are another detail that ideally dresses the Christmas tree. However, placing them is not always as easy as it seems. It is not enough to position them randomly, nor is it a good idea to wrap the entire tree with mesh, saturating the image. In fact, there are a series of very common mistakes when we decorate the tree with this type of ornament. Take good note to avoid them this Christmas and, instead, follow the tips to use them and make them look perfect.
The TikTok account @thexmascornerbymarce, with 29 thousand followers, shares different tips on Christmas decorations. Among their many videos, we find one where they compile the most common mistakes made when decorating the tree with tinsel.
The first of them is to cover the entire tree with mesh, something that overloads the decoration too much. They also do not recommend making very large and disproportionate segments. Stretching the mesh too much is another common mistake that dulls this decoration without taking advantage of it. Finally, they advise against opting for straight lines, which are not as aesthetically beautiful.
From the same TikTok profile they point out that, although each person can decorate their tree to their liking, there are certain tips to make the meshes look more beautiful. His recommendation is to draw an imaginary zigzag line with the mesh throughout the tree, making small segments of the mesh. Likewise, they point out that it is not advisable to abuse the mesh so that the result is not excessive.
A common situation is to resort to this type of mesh when the tree is not very thick and leafy, with the aim of giving it depth and volume. But this is counterproductive, since the excess of the meshes completely overshadows the spruce. Given this circumstance, in the comments section of the TikTok video they share another very practical tip: use garlands of the same color as your tree to cover it and make it more leafy.
