I have portrayed for La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos the mantle of the sun in this sky of cottony clouds in Igualada, capital of the Anoia region.
The presence of a middle cloud layer, in this case, we would say that altocumulus stratiformis, coinciding with sunrise, offers a very attractive texture in the sky.
These types of clouds can be a preview of the change in weather and are what generate the most spectacular skies if they coincide at the moment just before sunrise and in a position when the star, still below the horizon, is already illuminating them.
These altocumulus clouds form an extensive crust. This type of cloud forms when light, stable winds manage to carry moist air beyond the lower levels of the atmosphere.
But, when encountering strong winds from the middle levels of the atmosphere, the humid air mass condenses into a cloud.
