The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested a man in Mollerussa (Pla d’Urgell) for an alleged crime of attempted homicide after he attacked two people this Saturday in the town. Sources close to the case to which the Catalan News Agency (ACN) has had access have explained that the arrested man approached a 16-year-old girl on the street and ended up throwing her on the ground in an area where vehicles were passing.

Later, according to the same sources, he entered a bar, attacked a worker and grabbed a knife with which he threatened several people. The arrest was made in collaboration with the Mollerussa Local Police.

As a result of the events, the Mossos have begun a search to locate the alleged aggressor with the support of the Regional Operational Resources Area (ARRO) and have found him in another bar. When the agents entered, he threatened them with the knife but they managed to subdue him with the extendable defenses.

The force has taken statements from the testimonies and has arrested the man, who has accumulated several arrests for thefts and other incidents, for the crime of attempted homicide
