The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, left the door open this Tuesday to support a disapproval of the conduct of the Vox spokesperson in the City Council, Javier Ortega Smith, along with the left after the incident last Friday in the Plenary.

This was stated during his visit to the Pan Delirio workshop, where he commented that they will study it “when an initiative of these characteristics is proposed.” Almeida stressed that Ortega Smith’s conduct is “completely reprehensible”, but clarified that, “if the drift of Más Madrid and Rita Maestre is to make a ‘totum revolutum’, a salad and try to obtain exclusive political gain for Más Madrid, “They won’t have us there.” On the contrary, the mayor continued, “if they go along the line of condemning reprehensible behavior, we can meet there.”

The councilor stressed that “what Ortega Smith did is unspeakable, but he demanded that the left “not tear its clothes either, when it understood that the escrache was democratic syrup or that it supports an amnesty that expressly amnesties terrorists.” Therefore, he insisted on that, “for us, violence is condemnable regardless of who commits or exercises the violence”
