The municipal bus transport company of Valladolid will invest 500,000 euros in the coming months to digitize its structure and to expand the municipal bicycle rental service, which will order charging units and adapted for people with reduced mobility over the coming months .
The Board of Directors of Auvasa recently approved the contracting file for the supply of technological equipment that will improve the digitalization of the Company’s infrastructure.
This acquisition, which reaches a base tender budget of 260,010 euros, is financed by Next Generation EU European funds and will allow the adaptation of the company’s technological resources to the needs of the service, thereby completing a technological transformation process that had its first impact on users.
In a statement from the Valladolid City Council, collected by Europa Press, it is indicated that in the current context it is necessary to “equip the new Auvasa control center” with “the necessary technological infrastructure to be able to carry out its functions at full capacity and performance through the installation of digital devices for inspection and the rest of the technical departments, data procedure centers such as servers, racks and an Uninterruptible Power Supply that allows saving electrical outages.”
Likewise, this contract provides for the implementation of a security system that guarantees data protection.
“All this will provide Auvasa with the necessary elements to carry out its activity in the most efficient way possible,” stressed the City Council. Furthermore, they consider that “it will ensure the operation of the service in the best possible conditions and even improve it and favor the modal change of citizens towards the use of public transport.”
Likewise, the Board of Directors of Auvasa has also approved the supply of cargo bicycles and equipment adapted for people with reduced mobility and their incorporation into BIKI services.
This investment will start with a base tender budget of 231,788 euros and is financed by funds from the European Union-Nextgeneration EU.
In this way, in the coming months the citizens of Valladolid will be able to have cargo bicycles and tricycles, as well as adapted tricycles and electric mobility vehicles adapted for people with reduced mobility.
