The socialist councilor of Moncada (Valencia) Feliciana Bondia, whom a Vox councilor pretended to shoot during a municipal plenary session, has filed a complaint with the Civil Guard in which she confirms having received new death threats.
In the complaint, filed on January 9 and to which EFE has had access, the councilor for Equality, Seniors and Democratic Memory of this town indicates that she received a message on her official email with threats.
Specifically, the message says: “I hope they blow your mind like the ETA members did with whom you also get along so well. You are trash.”
Furthermore, Bondia states in the document that in the penultimate plenary session of the year 2023, held on November 26, a Vox councilor “made a threatening gesture with her hand simulating a gunshot”, as could then be seen in a video uploaded by the PSPV-PSOE to social networks.
The complainant suspects that the threatening message she received by email could be related to this event, since in the seventeen years she has been a councilor of Moncada she has not had any problems with anyone.
In a statement, the Secretary of Organization of the PSPV-PSOE, José Muñoz, has reproached the president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, for “supporting ultra and anti-democratic attitudes with his complicit silence” and has demanded that he condemn these events “in a manner emphatic and without hesitation”.
Muñoz has insisted that “it is intolerable that people who are dedicated to a public service are threatened for doing their work and defending their ideals” and has highlighted that this is not the first time that the councilor has received threats.
“First it was during the penultimate plenary session of the year when a Vox councilor pretended to shoot him and now he receives an email in which they wish him to ‘turn his head like the ETA’.”
The socialist leader has demanded from all parties that claim to be democratic “high-mindedness” in the face of situations that cannot have a place in society and has insisted that “it is time to demonstrate who are true democrats.”
“The PP has to clarify if it is with society or if it has become a party that has made Vox’s ideals its own. Now it cannot continue in silence and without condemning these very serious events,” he stated.
