First Dates has been one of Cuatro’s flagship programs for many years. The space presented by Carlos Sobera has managed to find a successful formula that not only millions of people follow on television, but many others want to participate and try to find their better half. A successful combination that Mediaset will seek to extend beyond its usual space, as it has already proven with different specials.
In a similar way to the 2020 version, titled First Dates Crucero, the red network program will premiere a new adaptation to continue the romantic adventures: First Dates Hotel. On this occasion, participants will be able to meet and try to connect in a luxurious hotel located on the Mediterranean Sea. All members of the program, including its presenter, will soon move to this new location.
First Dates Hotel aims to go beyond the experience offered by the original format: the ignorance, excitement and doubts of a first blind date. In this case, Cuatro wants viewers to know each and every one of the details that make up a meeting in such a special place. From the initial nerves and mixed opinions to the opportunity to continue further in the possible relationship.
In the case of couples who give each other a mutual ‘yes’, followers of the program and Mediaset will be able to see this second attempt in greater depth: dancing in the chill out, relaxation in the spa, nights in the moonlight under multiple sails, shoreline excursions and so many other opportunities to spread the love. All couples will be able to enjoy all the services with the aim of delving even deeper into their love.
As we mentioned previously, First Dates Hotel takes over from First Dates Cruise as the second stage of the appointments at Carlos Sobera’s restaurant. The program premiered in 2020 and lasted on air until April 25, 2022, changing the hotel environment for a trip on the high seas. In the event that a couple wanted to continue getting to know each other beyond the first date, the format team offered all kinds of entertainment options.
Whether it was sightseeing excursions, walks through the ship’s facilities or a luxurious bath in the duplex with a jacuzzi in the cabin, all the couples had multiple possibilities to get to know each other even better and confirm that their romantic story is true. The model chosen for the recordings was the MSC Bellissima, a ship 316 meters long and with a capacity for 4,500 passengers.
