The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN) has issued a health alert after detecting the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the gorgonzola cheese of the Cucina Nobile brand, which is sold by the German supermarket chain Aldi.
The alert originated from a notification from the health authorities of the Community of Madrid, and the withdrawal of the product has been communicated through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (SCIRI).
The agency published a statement in which it listed the autonomous communities in which this product was distributed, to warn consumers, in case they had acquired it: Andalusia, Aragon, Principality of Asturias, Cantabria, Castilla y León, Castilla- La Mancha, Catalonia, Community of Madrid, Navarra, Valencian Community, Extremadura, Galicia, Balearic Islands, La Rioja, Basque Country and Region of Murcia. In the letter they pointed out that the possibility of redistribution to other regions was not ruled out, and they were urged to verify the withdrawal of the affected products from marketing channels.
The Cucina Nobile brand, together with Aldi Supermercados S.L., has taken immediate action by withdrawing the 200 gram gorgonzola cheese from the market. The company has urged consumers who have purchased the product to return it to any of its stores, ensuring that the corresponding amount will be refunded.

It is advised to refrain from consuming it and, if you have ingested it and present symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea and fever, you are urged to seek medical attention. Special attention is recommended for pregnant women, who should consult the specific consumption recommendations during pregnancy issued by the AESAN.
