The general secretary of Junts, Jordi Turull, insisted this Monday that the delegation of powers in matters of immigration to the Generalitat of Catalonia must be “comprehensive”, despite the fact that the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, that issues such as the expulsion of Immigrants are the responsibility of the State.
This was indicated by Turull in an interview on TV3 collected by Servimedia, where he insisted that what PSOE and Junts agreed on last Wednesday to obtain this party’s abstention from the royal decrees was a “political decision” to make an organic law that would delegate powers to the Generalitat for the “comprehensive management” of immigration.
In this sense, he clarified that the content of the aforementioned organic law was “not” agreed upon and will now be negotiated, but “with logic.” “We will go to the maximum,” said Turull, who, when asked about Sánchez’s words in which he shows that it will not be a comprehensive transfer, pointed out that he also said that the amnesty law was “unconstitutional.”
