The Civil Guard intercepted a Ukrainian citizen at the La Jonquera border crossing on January 7 who was carrying around 23 kilos of drugs hidden in the wheel arches of the vehicle he was driving.
The drugs were distributed in vacuum-sealed plastic bags. In total, the agents seized 18.9 kilos of marijuana in 156 bags and 32 packages of hashish, approximately five kilos.
The arrested person, 36 years old, was the only occupant of the vehicle where the agents found the drugs. The car was heading towards France and was intercepted around 2 in the morning during a tax check on the AP-7 highway, near the La Jonquera border crossing.
The agents carried out proceedings that were delivered along with the detainee and the substance to the Investigative Court on duty in Figueres.
