On Friday the arrival of Cristóbal Balenciaga with Alberto San Juan is expected and, while his models with their sense of elegance have not yet paraded, here is the trailer for New look, the series developed in parallel about Christian Dior, another of the great couturiers of Paris after the Second World War.
Written by Todd A. Kessler, known for his work on Damages, it stars Ben Mendelsohn (The Outsider) as Christian Dior, the man who endangered the reign of Coco Chanel, here played by Juliette Binoche. The story begins after the war, the moment in which Dior revolutionized the haute couture of the French elite and, consequently, of the entire world, in part due to his ability to know how to sell himself to the media and, in the process, make the fans fall in love with him. USA.
This breath of fresh air in the fashion sector will serve to meet other relevant figures of the time: John Malkovich as Lucien Lelong, Nuno Lopez as Cristóbal Balenciaga, Thomas Poitevin as Pierre Balmain, Glenn Close as Carmel Snow, editor of Harper’s Bazaar, as well as Maisie Williams as Catherine Dior, the designer’s sister and heroine of the French resistance.
