Pablo Castellano, known for being María Pombo’s husband, has been able to pay a nice tribute to his father, who died of a heart attack more than a decade ago, in El Desafío. In this way, the architect faced a test that, although it did not demand him physically, it did require him emotionally: playing the drums with the legendary rock group Los Burning, the same group in which his father had been. drummer in the beginning.
Therefore, this test was not solely a matter of skill for Castellano, but was rather an emotional journey. “It’s a moment I’ll never forget,” he confessed through tears, remembering his father. As if that were not enough, his performance had a special meaning as it coincided with a very particular anniversary: ??”Forty years ago, my father dedicated this song to my mother at a concert.”
Castellano, unable to suppress his tears, wanted to share the feelings that facing this very special challenge generated in him: “During rehearsals, at some point I managed to do it, but having been able to perform with them live for so many people with all the feelings and sensations to play this song, which is very special to me…. There are so many emotions. I was in the middle of the story thinking about my parents.”
Patricia, his mother, witnessed firsthand how Castellano brought a very personal challenge to life. “The opportunity that the program is giving me is a dream for me,” said the contestant. Despite the physical absence of his father, the architect felt his presence on a spiritual level: “I would have loved for my father to be there, because I know he will be watching from above.”
The El Desafío jury not only recognized Castellano’s ability, but also the emotional burden that this challenge represented for him. His performance was valued positively, highlighting his ability to overcome and enjoy the challenge despite the memories that overwhelmed him.
Castellano is one of the contestants who, in some way, has an advantage in the contest: María Pombo was a contestant in the second edition and has given him some advice to progress in the tests. As the architect has confessed, his wife has been a great support during the weeks of recording with a couple of instructions.
The influencer recommended, first of all, to fully enjoy the experience, vital advice in such a competitive environment. On the other hand, Pombo asked Castellano to “be mentally prepared” for the ups and downs suffered in the program. “No matter how well my week had gone, the day of the program could arrive and I could fail, and I couldn’t drag that or put it in my backpack because the next day the next week’s test would already begin and I couldn’t be thinking about the past,” explained the contestant.
