The fire in a van inside the AP-7 tunnel in Pilar de la Horadada, near the border between the provinces of Alicante and Murcia, has forced traffic on the highway to be cut off. Two Firefighters from the Alicante Provincial Consortium, dispatched from the Torrevieja park, have controlled the fire without any injuries.

According to Consortium sources, when the fire broke out, the cause of which was unknown at the time of writing this information, the tunnel’s security systems were activated. Since the damaged vehicle was found approximately halfway through the tunnel, a lot of smoke was generated, which is why the ventilation systems were activated and the passage of vehicles was interrupted.
