The image of a very young resurrected Christ covered slightly from the waist down will be the one that announces Holy Week in Seville in 2024, an image in the purest style of the Sevillian painter Salustiano García, who, with his son Horacio as a model, has been made viral on social networks in less than an hour.

The Council of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of the city of Seville presented this Saturday in the assembly hall of the Caja Rural del Sur Foundation the poster, which reflects “the bright part of Holy Week”, according to the author, who has also presented the work inserted in a light box.

García has explained that he discarded the idea of ??creating a recumbent Jesus Christ and decided to continue with the norm of his work, always positioned “on the most serene and enlightened side of life and things”, and has created a Christ that “looks young and beautiful. Young, as a metaphor for purity, and beautiful because, I refer to Plato, beauty and goodness are the same thing.”

Within the poster there are two very representative elements of Holy Week in Seville: the cloth of the Christ of Expiration of the Brotherhood of the Puppy and the powers of the Christ of Love.

Among the first reactions on social networks, the president of the State Network of Proud Municipalities, Manolo Rosado, defined it as “wonderful and groundbreaking.”
