These photographs for La Vanguardia’s Readers’ Photos were taken last Saturday, January 27, in the morning, just as the still full moon was setting.

At that time, the moon was at 98%. And, in the sequence of images, you can see how it goes down to finally hide behind the horizon.

The photos were taken next to the small temple that is in the Mirador dels 40 Pins, in the municipality of La Roca del Vallès, in the region of Vallès Oriental.

The model who stars in the games with the dog Santa is @flipando.con.el.mundo. In the series of photographs you can see scenes of complicity with the full moon in the background.

The full moon in January is known as the Wolf Moon since Native American people associated this time of year with an increase in the howls of these animals around their villages.

It is believed that wolves took advantage of the moonlight to come out of their burrows and hunt, which is why this nickname ended up being given to the full moon in January.
