Civil Guard agents have arrested a 50-year-old man for sexually assaulting and holding his partner with zip ties in a cellar on a farm located in the municipality of Villalbilla, the Civil Guard Command reported in a statement.
The arrest occurred for crimes of sexual assault, illegal detention, injuries, physical and psychological abuse and against moral integrity, within the scope of gender violence. After being placed at the disposal of the Investigative Court number 3 of Alcalá de Henares, the judge ordered his imprisonment.
The investigation began last Friday following a complaint at the Civil Guard barracks in Villalbilla (Madrid). The woman stated that she had been held with zip ties on a farm, where she was sexually and physically attacked by her partner. The victim had wounds and marks on different parts of her body.
Given the seriousness of the events, Judicial Police specialists traveled to the hospital where the woman was and corroborated the victim’s version. The agents also discovered that, days before, the victim had suffered an abortion, which according to the medical examiner could be compatible with the beatings received.
Given the high degree of violence used by the alleged perpetrator, on Friday the civil guards requested the competent court to enter the property where the events had occurred, agreeing that same afternoon.
During the search, an access to a small underground room with stairs that matches the description provided by the victim was found – on the floor of one of the rooms. The agents found numerous zip ties, knives and an air rifle. It was a totally unhealthy environment, with a lot of accumulated dirt and cluttered with objects and garbage.
The 50-year-old man had numerous criminal records and was arrested by the Civil Guard. After being placed at the disposal of the investigating court number 3 of Alcalá de Henares, the judicial authority has ordered his imprisonment.
