The Appeal Committee did not accept Barcelona’s appeal and upheld the match with which Competition sanctioned Vitor Roque. The appeal has also not removed the second yellow card that the striker saw in Mendizorroza, where he was sent off, so the Brazilian will not be able to play this Sunday against Granada in Montjuïc.

Vitor Roque, who has been scoring for two consecutive days (Osasuna and Alavés), is unable to continue his streak. The Blaugrana club has decided not to resort to the TAD in search of precautionary measures for this match.

The Barcelona legal services sent the images of the play and alleged that the footballer jumped to avoid the entry of Rafa Marín. But as already happened with Competition, the Appeal Committee follows the same criteria and considers that Martínez Munuera’s definition of the action, which he classified as “reckless”, adjusts to reality.

Vitor Roque, 18 years old, arrived at Barcelona in the January market. He is still adapting to European football but in his seventh game he was already sent off for a double yellow card.

If Barcelona fail to reclaim João Félix and/or Raphinha, Xavi will only have Lewandowski as a pure first-team striker.
