The Nature Protection Service (SEPRONA) of the Salamanca Civil Guard investigates a woman after the discovery of eight dead mastiff puppies in the town of Peromingo.
In a statement, the Civil Guard details this Friday that last November they began an investigation around the area after finding the lifeless bodies of eight newborn mastiff dogs in an empty bag of dog food.
These actions made it possible to locate on a farm near the location of the discovery a recently whelped dog of the same breed as the dead animals nursing another puppy with the same characteristics.
The agents, in the presence of the property owner, along with other evidence, obtained DNA samples from both the mother and the puppy to determine the compatibility of the genetic profiles of both and the relationship they could have with those found.
For all this, and thanks to the results of the evidence obtained, the investigation of a woman was carried out as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of animal abuse, sending the proceedings to the Court of First Instance and Instruction of Béjar (Salamanca).
