I am a young farmer suffering from the current situation that we all know. I share in La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos these photographs of the farmers’ tractor protest this week. And this is my testimony.
Fourth day of tractor ride. Today I’m heading towards Vitoria. Around 220 tractors from Rioja Alavesa join those from San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Ábalos.
This unprecedented movement (like everything we are seeing in the European field) goes unnoticed by all the Basque news media.
Could it be that the Sierra de Cantabria covers it? Or… could it be that an opaque and sinister political-union wall tries to hide everything that is not under its control? They do not accept the idea that these mobilizations have arisen from the union of a field without borders or flags. That’s why they don’t want it to be seen.
The previous three days this tractor unit has been making slow marches from the shells of Haro to Logroño, passing through Laguardia. And once there, they joined their companions throughout the streets of Logroño.
It is a shame that, due to a political issue, this small region does not have its recognition in this “fight” against the premeditated crime of the primary sector.
