The Spanish women’s basketball team will be in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games since the victory achieved by Japan against Canada (82-86) this Sunday in the Sopron pre-Olympic tournament assures the Spanish team one of the three places at stake for this summer’s appointment.
The team led by Miguel Méndez must face Hungary this afternoon (5:30 p.m.) but will do so with the certainty that it would occupy second place if it wins by tying with Japan and third if it loses because it would have the same number as Canada but will not fall to the fourth, which is the only one that does not give a ticket to Paris, having defeated this team.
Spain lost on the first day against Japan, which later fell to Hungary, and beat Canada on the second, which in turn had defeated the local team.
