The Vox parliamentary group, without success, has requested that the Parliament of Catalonia approve an institutional declaration of support for the Civil Guard agents who died last week attacked by a drug boat off the coast of Cádiz, especially taking into account that one of them was born in Barcelona. But this proposal has only had the support of the PP and Ciudadanos in the meeting of the Board of Spokespersons, the other groups have remained silent and it has not prospered.
Afterwards, the orange formation requested that a minute of silence be observed and has had the complicity of the popular and Vox, so that its initiative has not gone forward either.
After this, the three right-wing formations have charged against the rest of the groups, especially against the PSC, who they have targeted for not supporting both initiatives with messages such as “moral misery” or lack of humanity.
In the Catalan Chamber, a minute of silence is kept for the victims of sexist violence who are murdered in Catalonia because this is stipulated in the protocol that was approved in the institution in this regard and also if there is a mourning decree approved by the central Government or the Government of the Generalitat. But it is not a matter that is regulated beyond those issues.
Faced with the criticism from the three right-wing parties directed at the formation of Salvador Illa, the Catalan socialists emphasize that nothing has been voted on in the meeting of that body – in the Board of Spokespersons there are no usual votes, they work with the assent and support the topics that other groups are interested in – and refer to the institutional criteria for the minutes of silence already mentioned.
Furthermore, PSC sources “regret that the State Security Forces and Corps are being instrumentalized by some groups, a message that alludes to the three right-wing parties: Vox, PP and Ciudadanos. Likewise, these sources “reiterate their support for the victims and their families” of the agents who died in Barbate. “The PSC is next to the victims and relatives of the Barbate tragedy. Our support for the Civil Guard and the rest of the State Security Forces and Bodies is unequivocal. Using this tragedy politically is not appropriate,” the spokesperson later stated. socialist, Alícia Romero, in a tweet.
The orange group, for its part, later highlighted that it had prepared another proposal for an institutional declaration which, however, had not been formally registered since it had sufficient support.
In another order of things, the Junts deputy Aurora Madaula has been absent from the meeting of the Board of Spokespersons and has not participated, either in person or by telematic means, a day after rejoining the institution after several weeks of low.
