The most famous restaurant on the small screen opened its doors one more night to welcome a new batch of single men and women, who decided to appear on First Dates in the hope of finding the right person. But the team at Cuatro doesn’t always get the pairings right and the diners end up being most disappointed.
That’s what happened to Fátima and Julio. The 60-year-old single woman from Madrid arrived at the restaurant boasting of her sensuality. ”I come in red passion,” she commented. After 37 years as an English teacher, Fátima had decided to retire because she “no longer had patience with children.” She was now focused on enjoying life, but she needed to find a travel companion.
”You have to be a culturally restless person with a sense of love and humor. I come looking for a ”Don Juan Tenorio”, he confessed. His date was going to be Julio, a 65-year-old Argentine single, who had tried to find love through mobile applications. ”I like people who smile and their eyes shine,” he declared.
The first impression among the singles was not particularly good. ”I like Argentines, the accent, but I don’t like all Argentines. “He is not a person who has a mischievous look or a pretty smile,” she said. Moments later, the presenter accompanied the couple to their table, where they began the evening talking about their ages and their professions.
During the first minutes of dinner, the couple discovered that they had quite a few things in common, like theater. However, this small show of complicity was not enough for the single woman, who knew perfectly well that Julio was not her perfect travel companion. ”I like theatrical men, but I like those who add a bit of fun, fun and grace to the date,” she asserted.
At one point during the evening, Fátima was very curious to know what the bachelor was looking for. ”I’m looking for a relationship, but in principle each one in his house,” he explained. ”If I don’t live with a man I can have other stories. “I need coexistence,” she said. Likewise, Julio said that he noticed a woman regardless of her physique. Something that drove the single girl crazy, she expected her date to praise her physique. ”I like youthful people and she hasn’t given me that look that I’m used to,” declared the bachelor.
In the final stretch of the evening, the singles moved to the program booth, where they realized that theirs was practically impossible. In addition, the couple was involved in a small fight due to their tastes in the seventh art. And the bachelor was acting out a scene from the movie The Godfather and Fátima was left speechless.
”I don’t want to listen to him anymore, I have no interest,” he said. ”Do you remember the movie? For me it’s cult, I’ve seen it about 200 times,” he told her. ”There’s nothing I hate more than having a movie told to me,” she said. In the final decision there were no surprises and both were rejected.
