The National Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy for stabbing a 33-year-old Mexican tourist early Saturday morning after an argument on a street in the Madrid district of Carabanchel, a spokesperson for the Madrid Police Headquarters reported.
The events occurred around 2 in the morning on the 24th at the doors of a supermarket located at number 88 Antonio López Street. The victim and her brother, who were visiting Spain for a few days, began an argument, for unknown reasons, with a 16-year-old teenager.
At one point, this boy pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the shoulder blade. First, agents from the National Police went to the scene, who covered the wound until the arrival of the Samur-Civil Protection paramedics, who were able to verify that the victim suffered a penetrating stab wound in the left and posterior hemithorax, in the back, under the scapula, and also suffered a state of semi-consciousness.
The Samur members placed a chest tube that drained half a liter of blood and, once stabilized, they transferred the injured man in serious condition to the Gregorio Marañón Hospital, a Madrid Emergency spokesperson told Europa Press, where the tourist is recovering from the wounds.
The National Police quickly began a search for the perpetrator, who fled the scene, and found him on nearby Parador del Sol Street. He was still carrying the bloody knife that he allegedly used during the fight. He was transferred to the Minors Group while Scientific Police agents inspected the place to collect evidence.
