Some of those affected by the brutal fire in València that has claimed the lives of 10 people will be able to begin moving “from today” to the 131 homes that the Valencia City Council makes available to residents who have lost their homes . This was explained this Monday by the mayor of València, María José Catalá, who, during the visit to the municipal building that has been enabled, pointed out that there are close to a hundred requests.
In this sense, the first mayor has indicated that a first period of three months has been established to occupy these two- and three-story homes, although she has clarified that they will be “fully extendable.” The leader of the PP wanted to point out that the council understands that this first period “is enough to see the social vulnerability of families”, but she highlighted that “here no one is going to be left without housing from one day to the next”, but rather This period, “fully extendable”, will work so that municipal technicians can study each case individually.
Catalá has stressed that the first families to access the properties will be those who have children, dependent people or relatives with reduced mobility.
“The idea is that families can resume, to the extent possible, their lives and can leave the hotel that provided them with their first welcome, to recover a space in which to resume their routines, a comfortable, habitable place where they are Families shocked by the event can feel at ease,” said Catalá.
To this end, the City Council explains in a statement that it has also made jobs available to the victims of the tragic Campanar fire, equipped with a laptop computer and connectivity, in the Las Naves-La Harinera complex, located on the street Joan Verdeguer number 30.
Regarding the 131 homes, 85 of these have two bedrooms with a useful area of ??45-53 square meters, while the remaining 46 homes have three bedrooms and have a surface area between 65 and 74 square meters.
