The mayor of Barcelona, ??Jaume Collboni, today visited various stands of the Mobile World Congress (MWC) at the Fira de Barcelona venue in L’Hospitalet. Collboni has paid special attention to the tenth edition of 4YFN (4 Years From Now), the reference fair for startups, and has focused especially on the installation that Barcelona Activa has in this event.
The mayor has been interested in the news of some of the companies that Barcelona Activa supports, such as VRAIn, ??which introduces advanced technology to the health system to make multidimensional biomedical visualization in virtual reality and its analysis through artificial intelligence possible.
Another company present at 4YFN with Barcelona Activa is Edge Farming, which implements IoT Micro Farms with sensors and cameras to monitor the reproduction and growth of segments inside a maritime container.
The Deputy Mayor of Economy, Finance, Economic Promotion and Tourism, Jordi Valls; and the Councilor for Economic Promotion, Raquel Gil, have also visited different 4YFN proposals.
About twenty startups from Barcelona Activa participated today in the company pitch with representatives from different managers and venture capital funds; and also today a SpaceTech round table took place, where the horizons and new challenges of the sector were addressed.
Today, the Beat Barcelona en el Mobile space has scheduled different sessions on topics such as technology in the care sector and the future of public-private financing of startups.
Jaume Collboni made his debut as mayor of Barcelona in an edition of Mobile last Sunday, during the authorities’ dinner that took place at the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya. Yesterday, Monday, he was at the official inauguration and today he returned to the congress to learn first-hand about the proposals of the companies promoted by the City Council of the Catalan capital.
