This Tuesday, February 27, content creator Violeta Mangriñan surprised all her followers by revealing a strange illness that her second daughter, Gia, was suffering from. The little girl, the result of her relationship with Fabio Colloricchio, came into the world on February 1. Since then, the influencer is totally focused on her role as a mother and paying attention to all the care that the newborn Gia and her older sister, Gala, may need.

However, the former contestant on the program Mujeres y Hombres y Viceversa is not going through her best personal moment due to the great concern she feels for little Gia. And this Tuesday the influencer shared on her Instagram profile the strange illness that her second daughter was suffering from.

”A few days ago Gia had a lot of pimples all over her face. Gala also got them, but they went away quickly. Gia has been with them for a few days now. The pediatrician told me that they don’t hurt. They are colloquially called ”fattening plants”. She looks like a little plate of paella, she is already in her teens,’ the influencer explained.

Following this publication, many have begun to wonder what exactly fattening plants are. They are called ‘miliary acne’, ‘milia’ or ‘neonatal acne’, although they are colloquially known as ‘fattening’. They are skin lesions that appear quite frequently during the first weeks of life on the skin of newborns, especially on the face.

They are pimples 1-2 mm in diameter, with a small white head, without pus, which appear in the vast majority of cases on the nose and cheeks. And although they are not serious, they can be confused with other skin diseases, such as atopic dermatitis or seborrheic dermatitis.

But why do these rashes appear on the skin of babies? Well, this problem appears mainly due to an accumulation of keratin or due to the maternal hormones that it has received through the placenta.
