The success of the latest edition of Operación Triunfo, which ended a week ago with the triumph of Naiara Moreno, has brought back the popularity of one of the longest-running formats in the history of our country’s small screen.
Over the last few years, more than 190 applicants have coexisted and competed in the most famous academy on television. Although all editions of OT have been characterized by the good vibes among the contestants, the different careers of each one and the success that only a few have achieved outside the show has taken a toll on many of those personal relationships that were forged in front of thousands. of spectators.
A few days ago, Jesús de Manuel, a contestant on Operación Triunfo 2005, gave an interview for the YouTube channel We talk about TV. The singer and presenter explained in said space what it was like to experience the OT casting process and how happy he felt when they told him that they had caught him, among other things.
The communicator also expressed that he remembers that stage of his life with great affection and acknowledged that at that time he was still “very green.” Jesús thinks that he gave everything at the beginning of the program, something for which he paid dearly with his expulsion, since OT is ”a long-distance race”.
The situation became a little more tense when talking about his former teammates. Jesús de Juan explained that he maintained contact with many of them, but openly declared that the most successful figures in his publishing had cut off contact. ”I am very sad and very nostalgic for having lost contact with many of them, especially with those who are top,” he shared.
”On certain occasions I wrote to Edurne (…) because my child is crazy about Got Talent and Edurne left me unnoticed, she never answered me. In the end this is life,’ he announced, leaving the interviewer in shock.
The artist also spoke about his relationship with the woman from Extremadura, something that makes him feel quite sad. ”The other day I had a concert in Noja, Cantabria, and I was very excited that 7-8 km away, in Santoña, my colleague Soraya was singing (…) I wrote to her on the phone ‘hey, Soraya, I’m 6 kilometers of yours here at the concert’ (…) ‘If you feel like it, when you finish the concert, we’ll see each other for a little while and have a drink or just say hello, give you a hug’ (…) He left me in sight, man,” he expressed. the former Survivor contestant while explaining that he had maintained a spectacular relationship with Arnelas within the academy and that he had congratulated him at key moments in his life such as his wedding or the birth of his children.
Although it may seem that Jesús de Manuel has not had as successful a career as other former OT colleagues, the one from Puertollano has managed to make a living from his art and has several hits in his discography. Additionally, he currently presents the program A tu vera on CMM TV.
