Vox emerged with 11 seats in the Parliament in 2021, and despite the fact that the political cycle is changing, the far-right formation intends to consolidate, even if somewhat downward, its weight in Catalonia.
An objective that also points to the Spanish project of this formation, which lost 19 seats in the 2023 general elections, but which maintains its objective – and this is why 12-M is important – of ending up conditioning an eventual PP government in Spain.
The candidate, Ignacio Garriga, in addition to drawing the well-known line of total rejection of the process, is focusing a large part of the campaign on denouncing illegal immigration, which he links to insecurity, with a speech that appeals to the “impact on services that the Catalans receive.”
For this reason, Vox seeks votes in the historical fiefdoms of socialism, in the neighborhoods with lower incomes with an intense campaign at street level. Likewise, the PP disputes the young Spanish vote.
