Today I would like to show in La Vanguardia’s Readers’ Photos some curious image that I took during my visit to Calatayud, specifically, of the Plaza España in this Zaragoza town located next to the course of the Jalón River.

It is a square of medieval origin that once in it, the first thing that will catch your attention are its colorful houses, which seem as if they are going to collapse at any moment.

We say this because its asymmetrical houses seem to support each other. Furthermore, this becomes more visible on their balconies.

They are balconies that have a high inclination that does not match the physiognomy of the building structure. But in addition, we can find in the same building several balconies with totally different inclinations from each other.

Without a doubt, a peculiar and a bit crazy square. Although don’t let the smoke stop you from seeing the flowers. Some of these houses are supported by some columns dating from the 16th century.

They are buildings that had the pleasure of serving as decorations for the market, social events and events that happened and/or are happening. Without a doubt, a square that left me amazed, fascinated and a little bit scared.
