This morning, after yesterday’s deluge in Gavà, in Baix Llobregat, all the fields in the agricultural area were flooded, as we see in the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia.
The large amount of rain that fell in this area of ??the Barcelona area was brutal. It had not rained like this for four years. Fields completely filled with water due to the strong deluge at the end of April and crops in danger, with farmers on alert.
The latest rains have been notable not only in Baix Llobregat, but throughout Catalonia. To give us an idea, the Generalitat Firefighters have responded to 495 calls from eight in the afternoon on Sunday until ten at night this past Monday.
Civil Protection warned that the final stretch of the Llobregat river, in the area of ??influence of the Agrarian Park, reached the threshold of danger due to flooding caused by the rains.
Catalonia recorded on Monday the rainiest day since September 15, 2023, according to data from the Meteorological Service of Catalonia (SMC). Up to 60 millimeters were collected in the eastern half (at the Rascler Automatic Station, in the Garraf National Park) and up to 20 millimeters in the west (22.9 in the Espluga de Francolí, in the Conca de Barberà, or 21, 2 in Alinyà, in the Alt Urgell).
Snow has also made an appearance in the high points of the Pyrenees and in stations such as Certascan, at 2,400 meters of altitude, thicknesses of more than one meter accumulate.
